Role overview
Senior Product Manager - Payment Scheme Implementation at Ebury leads the end-to-end delivery of payment scheme integrations across our payments platform. In this senior role, you will define the strategy and roadmaps for enabling new payment rails and associations (card schemes and other payment networks), collaborate with engineering, risk, compliance, and partnerships teams, and translate business opportunities into actionable requirements and success metrics. You will own the backlog, write clear user stories, and guide cross-functional squads from discovery through delivery, ensuring reliable, scalable, and compliant payment capabilities that meet customer needs and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of payment scheme integrations (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and related rails across the Ebury platform.
- Define product strategy and roadmaps for adding and scaling payment schemes and network connections.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Compliance, Risk, Partnerships, and Customer Support to deliver high-quality payment solutions.
- Translate business opportunities into detailed requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable success metrics.
- Prioritize the backlog, lead discovery, and drive cross-functional squads from ideation to delivery.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, PSD2 where applicable) and robust risk controls across all schema integrations.
- Coordinate with external schemes and banking partners; manage partner relationships and contract implications.
- Monitor performance, optimize onboarding, settlement, and reconciliation processes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach other Product Managers and contribute to a data-driven product culture.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager or similar in payments, with direct ownership of payment scheme integrations.
- Strong knowledge of card schemes (Visa, Mastercard), SEPA, and other payment rails; familiarity with API-driven ecosystems.
- Experience with regulatory and security requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2) and risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence across a global organization.
- Data-driven decision-making, analytical rigor, and ability to define success metrics.
