About the role
Senior Audit Manager - Financial Crime at Ebury in Brussels leads the financial crime audit program, partnering with Compliance, Legal and business teams to assess and improve controls around AML, KYC, sanctions, and related financial crime risks.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute risk-based audits of the Financial Crime domain (AML, KYC, sanctions, fraud risk, and related controls).
- Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls; identify gaps and drive remediation with control owners.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, MLRO/Regulatory teams, and external auditors; coordinate regulatory expectations and reporting.
- Develop and maintain audit programs, testing procedures, data analytics, and evidence gathering for end-to-end financial crime processes.
- Communicate findings to senior management and the Audit Committee; track remediation and validate corrective actions.
- Lead and develop a team of audit professionals; manage timelines, budget, and stakeholder relationships.
- Stay current on regulatory developments in EU AML regulations and related requirements; ensure alignment with Ebury policies and controls.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in internal audit or financial crime risk management within financial services.
- Professional certifications such as ACAMS, CIA, CPA/ACCA, or CISA are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AML/KYC, sanctions regimes (e.g., EU/UK), and transaction monitoring concepts.
- Experience with risk assessment, control design/testing, and remediation tracking; proficient with data analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; English fluency required; knowledge of French is a plus.
