Job Description

Senior Engineer - C++ at dunnhumby in Gurgaon, India. This role focuses on building and maintaining high-performance C++ software for our data-driven retail analytics platform. You will join a cross-functional team responsible for core services, data processing components, and performance-critical modules. The position is based in Gurgaon and requires on-site collaboration with product, engineering, and data teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and optimize high-performance C++ components and services.
Collaborate with product, QA, and data science teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions.
Profile, debug, and optimize performance, memory usage, and scalability of systems.
Contribute to architecture decisions and code reviews to maintain code quality and reliability.
Write unit and integration tests, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and participate in release activities.
Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the team.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in C++, with hands-on experience in modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) and the STL.
Solid knowledge of systems programming, memory management, and multithreading/concurrent programming.
Experience working in a Linux environment and with performance profiling/debugging tools.
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD processes, and software development lifecycle.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team.
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; 5+ years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-have

Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics platforms.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and distributed systems.
Experience with additional languages/tools commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, SQL).
