Overview
Dropbox is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer, Data Catalog & Governance to design, implement, and scale infrastructure for data catalog and governance across the platform. This is a remote role based in Poland, enabling collaboration with global teams while maintaining strong security, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure for data catalog and governance systems.
- Build tooling for metadata management, data lineage, data quality, access control, and policy enforcement.
- Collaborate with data engineering, security, and product teams to enable discoverability and governance across data assets.
- Improve system reliability, monitoring, and incident response; optimize performance and cost.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software infrastructure or platform engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data tooling.
- Understanding of data governance concepts, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with data catalogs and governance solutions.
- Familiarity with streaming data systems (Kafka) and data privacy/compliance.
