IAM Engineer, Data and Systems Security Team — Dropbox
Overview
Dropbox is seeking an IAM Engineer to join the Data and Systems Security Team. This remote role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining identity and access management solutions to protect Dropbox data across engineering systems. You will work with security and engineering teams to enforce least privilege, manage access controls, and support secure, scalable cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate IAM tooling and processes
- Configure single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access reviews
- Build role-based access control and least privilege policies
- Collaborate with engineering teams to secure development and production environments
- Investigate identity-related security incidents and respond with remediation
- Monitor and audit IAM controls; promote compliance with security standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years in identity and access management or security engineering
- Strong knowledge of IAM concepts: authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, RBAC
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and directory services (Active Directory, Okta, etc.)
- Familiarity with security best practices and incident response
- Excellent communication and teamwork
Nice to Have
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) or cloud security certifications
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration
