Overview

We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator for a short-term engagement to assess, repair, and optimize our existing Jira instance. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and focused on correcting configuration issues, improving usability, and establishing clean workflows.

Responsibilities

• Audit current Jira configuration, workflows, schemes, custom fields, and add-ons
• Identify root causes of performance, usability, and configuration issues
• Redesign and simplify workflows to align with actual team needs
• Standardize project configurations and remove unnecessary customization
• Document changes, rationale, and recommended governance practices
• Implement permission, issue type, and screen scheme improvements
• Optimize dashboards and reporting for stakeholders
• Provide lightweight training and handover documentation to internal teams
• Recommend best practices to prevent future configuration debt

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Jira Administration (Cloud or Data Center)
• Proven experience repairing/cleaning complex Jira environments
• Strong understanding of workflow design, schemes, custom fields, and automation
• Ability to translate messy requirements into clean, scalable configurations
• Comfortable working independently in a fixed-scope, short-term project
• Experience with Jira add-ons (Automation, ScriptRunner, portfolio tools)
• Clear communication and concise documentation skills
