We are seeking a Senior Vice President to serve as a senior strategic leader, driving high-impact healthcare communications programs, fostering client relationships and developing talent internally. This role requires deep pharma expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong track record of managing large accounts, teams, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to internal teams, and a key driver of business expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a high-level strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders, offering expert counsel on complex healthcare communications challenges.
  • Oversee the development and execution of high-impact, integrated communications strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively identify innovative solutions and opportunities for account growth.
  • Stay ahead of healthcare industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to inform client recommendations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence across client accounts.
  • Ensure strong financial stewardship of accounts, optimizing budgets, resource allocation, and profitability.
  • Mentor and coach mid- and senior-level team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Drive organic growth opportunities within existing client relationships by identifying new areas of engagement.
  • Lead new business pitches and proposals, contributing to the agency’s healthcare portfolio expansion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders to enhance the agency’s presence in the healthcare space.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of health communications experience (pharma comms experience required, agency experience preferred).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in executive-level client counsel, account management, and strategic communications leadership.
  • Proven success in business development and account growth within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong team leadership and mentorship skills, with experience managing large, high-performing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, including regulatory considerations and evolving market trends.
  • Expertise in developing integrated, multi-channel communications campaigns across earned, owned, and paid media.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, integrated agency environment and drive results.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate fluency in leveraging AI tools to enhance communication strategies, optimize content creation, and drive more personalized, data-informed engagement across channels.

    An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
