Director of Product & Engineering Finance

📋 Description

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, planning, and analytics for Software, Hardware, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
• Serve as a Finance Partner to senior leaders across all departments to strengthen financial discipline.
• Manage complex financial data with executive presence, strategic thinking, and influence.
• Partner cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives and provide rigorous financial recommendations.
• Collaborate with partners on proactive workforce planning and resource allocation.
• Develop financial models and analyses to frame objectives and track performance.
• Improve engineering capital forecasting across product generations, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Recommend strategies to optimize capital deployment to meet targets.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years as finance lead for a large hardware/tech business with multi-year capital.
• Experience in deep tech, hardware, manufacturing, or automotive industries.
• Deep understanding of hardware/software dev cycles, including scale-up from R&D.
• Proven track record building finance teams and improving margins, working capital, and forecasts.
• Experience adopting AI to enhance FP&A; passion for AI tools to accelerate execution.
• Strong written/verbal communication to explain complex concepts to executives.
• Degree in Finance or related quantitative field; engineering degrees considered.
• Familiar with financial tools like Pigment, NetSuite, Coupa, Oracle, SAP.
• CPA/CFA/MBA preferred.
• Expert-level GSuite skills: Sheets, Docs, Slides.
• Pigment, NetSuite, or Coupa experience a plus.
