Director, Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead an org of 30+ engineers across squads (trading, clearing, data).
• Build a healthy, high-performing culture with accountability and coaching.
• Partner with Product, Ops, Compliance/Risk to scale platform and strategy.
• Ensure teams deliver iteratively and predictably under constraints.
• Shape major engineering decisions including replatforming and refactors.
• Define standards for regulated, high-stakes systems: observability, reliability.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Ops, Investing, Compliance, Legal.
• Develop leadership bench by hiring and coaching Eng Managers and Staff+ ICs.

🎯 Requirements

• Multiple years leading engineering orgs of 30+ people.
• Manager-of-managers; overseen Eng Managers/Tech Leads.
• Deliver complex multi-team initiatives under tight constraints.
• Re-plan and re-sequence work as new info emerges; communicate tradeoffs.
• Evolve engineering processes and rituals; design/improve systems of work.
• Improve throughput, predictability, and incident posture.
• Experience running regulated, high-availability fintech systems.
• Proven ability to build diverse, inclusive teams and maintain performance through change.
