About the Role

Dig icert is seeking a Mid-level Application Security Engineer to join our security team in Cape Town, South Africa. This on-site role focuses on securing Dig icert's web applications throughout the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement security controls, perform threat modeling, conduct code reviews, and drive secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform security assessments of web applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement security controls and secure coding practices.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessment.
• Review code for security vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation with developers.
• Perform security testing (SAST/DAST) and manage vulnerability management processes.
• Assist with security incident response and coordination.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in application security or security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
• Experience with security testing tools (SAST/DAST/SCA) and vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python or Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud security and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
