We're looking for a strategic and creative Manager, Content Strategy to be the architect and champion of Dave's voice across our product ecosystem. This is a "player-coach" role for a leader who is passionate about both high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You will spend about half your time mentoring and managing a talented content strategist and the other half crafting brilliant copy and strategy for your own projects.

You will own the end-to-end content strategy for our mobile app, help center, and AI-powered member support tools. You will be a key partner to our Marketing, Legal, Product, and Design teams, ensuring that every word our members read is clear, compliant, and "distinctly Dave."

What You'll Do

  • Lead & Mentor: Manage, coach, and support one direct report, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality output across all their projects.

  • Own Product Content Strategy: Govern and refine our product's voice, tone, and vocabulary to balance clarity with personality - think 90% straightforward, 10% fun and delightful. Create and maintain guidelines and resources that empower our entire product development organization to write with clarity and consistency, including AI writing tools.

  • Pioneer AI Content: Oversee the content strategy for our member-facing AI tools, including our AI-powered Help Chat. You will guide the personality, tone, and knowledge base of our LLMs to ensure they provide helpful and on-brand support.

  • Bridge Brand & Product: Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to ensure a seamless and cohesive narrative for our members as they move from marketing channels into the product experience.

  • Champion User-Centric Content: Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure our in-product messaging clearly communicates the value and functionality of our features, reducing friction and building trust.

  • Navigate & Innovate with Compliance: Partner with our Legal and Compliance teams to craft messaging that meets strict regulatory requirements without sacrificing our approachable and empowering brand voice.

  • Execute with Excellence: As a hands-on contributor, you will write and strategize content for key product initiatives, from new feature launches in our app to critical member communications and help articles. You will guide our teams on where to infuse small moments of surprise and warmth (think onboarding messages, error states, and push notifications) that reflect our brand voice.

What You'll Need:

  • 6+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing your work on digital products (mobile app experience is a must).

  • 2+ years of direct people management experience.

  • A portfolio that showcases crisp UX copy, long-form support content, and strategic thinking.

  • Experience providing formal or informal mentorship, feedback, and guidance to other writers.

  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and evangelizing content guidelines (voice, tone, style guides).

  • Track record of using both qualitative and quantitative data to inform content strategy and content design iterations.

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with Marketing, Product, Design, and Legal teams.

  • You’re a clear communicator who knows when to be serious and when a touch of playfulness helps. You understand that a member’s trust is earned with transparency - but kept with humanity.


Bonus if you have:

  • Experience applying content strategy principles to emerging technologies, including hands-on experience shaping the output of generative AI tools to ensure brand alignment, accuracy, and user value.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as FinTech or HealthTech.

  • Familiarity with Figma and other content and design tools.
