Overview
Datadog is seeking a Technical Support Engineer 2 to join our APAC Solutions Engineering team in Tokyo, Japan. This full-time, on-site role focuses on delivering advanced technical support for Datadog's observability platform across complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 technical support to Datadog customers via chat, email, and phone.
- Troubleshoot and reproduce complex incidents related to Datadog's APM, logs, metrics, dashboards, and integrations.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to drive rapid resolution and product improvements.
- Escalate issues as needed and perform root-cause analysis.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
- Assist customers with deployment optimization and best practices for observability.
Requirements
- 3+ years in technical support or a customer-facing technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux/Windows, networking, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) or SQL; ability to write queries and reproduce scenarios.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools; knowledge of Datadog is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English; able to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to work on-site in Tokyo and align with APAC business hours.
