Staff Software Engineer - Software Delivery

Overview

Datadog is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Software Delivery to help scale our software delivery platforms and tooling. In this role, you will partner with backend engineers, platform teams, and release managers to drive efficient, reliable, and secure software delivery across the Datadog product suite. This position is based in Madrid, Spain and is part of the Engineering organization in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software delivery tooling and platforms
• Build scalable CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes
• Improve build times, test coverage, deployment reliability, and observability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan releases and manage dependencies
• Mentor and ship code with best practices, code reviews, and documentation
• Ensure security, compliance, and performance requirements in releases
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record in backend systems and software delivery
• Strong experience with CI/CD, release engineering, and deployment automation
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages and familiarity with distributed systems
• Experience with APIs, databases, monitoring, and instrumentation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work across teams in a global company
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree a plus
