Role overview
Software Engineer - Data & Analytics Governance at Datadog in Paris, France. This full-time backend role is dedicated to building and scaling Datadog's data governance capabilities across the Data & Analytics platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale data governance capabilities (data quality checks, metadata management, data lineage).
- Partner with data platform teams and analytics partners to enforce data protection, privacy controls, and data quality standards.
- Develop robust data pipelines and tooling to monitor data quality and lineage across data assets.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and maintain thorough documentation.
Requirements
- Strong backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Knowledge of data governance concepts, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and orchestration tools (Airflow).
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt, data catalogs, GDPR/privacy considerations.
