Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Security Platform (Lisbon)

Datadog is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Security Platform team in Lisbon. You will help design and build secure, scalable backend systems for cloud security offerings that protect millions of workloads.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cloud Security Platform group, you will contribute to the development of secure, high-performance backend services that power Datadog's cloud security products. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and iterate on security‑first solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain backend services for cloud security features.
• Collaborate with Security, Platform, and Product teams to define requirements and roadmaps.
• Investigate and resolve security issues and performance bottlenecks in production systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in backend software development for large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts, authentication/authorization, and threat modeling.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and resilience patterns.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
