Datadog is seeking a Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) for Financial Services. This executive-level role leads strategic technical direction, engages with key customers, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to advance Datadog’s observability platform within the financial services sector. The role is based in North America with primary presence in New York and San Francisco, and involves close collaboration with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and Customer Success to shape roadmaps and drive customer outcomes.

Overview

• Executive- or Director-level leadership focusing on strategic technical engagements with large financial services customers.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to influence roadmaps based on field feedback and customer needs.
• Represent Datadog in industry forums, conferences, and executive briefings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership for key financial services accounts, translating business goals into architectural blueprints and ROI storytelling.
• Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and architecture reviews to C-suite stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Customer Success to drive adoption of Datadog across multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Partner with Product and Engineering to influence product roadmaps with field insights and customer requirements.
• Mentor and develop field engineers, solutions architects, and technical specialists.
• Lead security, compliance, and incident response discussions as they relate to observability and monitoring in regulated industries.
• Represent Datadog at customer sites and industry events, delivering field-ready technical content and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technical leadership roles with experience in financial services; prior Field CTO, Chief Technology Office, or equivalent leadership is ideal.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, observability, distributed systems, and multi-cloud deployments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior executives.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value and actionable plans.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and teams.
