Commercial Sales Engineer (Customer Success) - French-speaking at Datadog

Datadog is seeking a technically savvy Commercial Sales Engineer fluent in French to join our EMEA team in Dublin. In this role, you will partner with Sales to drive revenue by translating customer needs into practical technical solutions, delivering engaging product demonstrations, and guiding French-speaking customers through PoCs and onboarding to realize value from Datadog’s observability platform.

Role overview

You will serve as the technical bridge between customers, Sales, and Product/Engineering, helping mid-market and enterprise clients understand how Datadog’s monitoring, APM, logs, and dashboards can improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with Customer Success to ensure smooth post-sale adoption and long-term satisfaction while representing Datadog with professionalism and integrity in the Francophone market across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical conversations, needs analysis, and tailored product demonstrations for French-speaking customers.
  • Own and drive Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate Datadog in customer environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).
  • Translate business value into technical solutions; map customer metrics to Datadog capabilities (observability, APM, logs, infrastructure, dashboards, alerts).
  • Partner with Account Executives to craft compelling proposals, respond to RFPs, and support deal closure.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure successful onboarding, adoption, and renewal outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering on customer needs and market trends.
  • Engage with senior technical and business stakeholders across the EMEA region; travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Fluent in French and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, monitoring, observability, and Datadog product areas (APM, logs, infrastructure, dashboards, security monitoring).
  • Experience in a sales engineering, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical role within SaaS or cloud environments.
  • Ability to design and deliver tailored demos, run PoCs, and articulate technical value to business stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Dublin, Ireland; willingness to travel within the EMEA region.
