Overview
Datadog is seeking a Commercial Sales Engineer in Boston to partner with the sales team and drive customer success across the Mid‑Market segment. This role blends business acumen with deep technical expertise to demonstrate Datadog’s observability platform and architect solutions that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team to understand customer requirements and map them to Datadog solutions
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical evaluations for prospects and customers
- Develop solution architectures and respond to technical questions during the sales cycle
- Collaborate with Product, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure smooth deployments and adoption
- Support RFPs, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept projects
- Stay current with Datadog product updates and industry trends to provide strategic guidance
Requirements
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar role in a SaaS company
- Solid knowledge of observability, cloud monitoring, and modern stacks (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, containers)
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, engineering, and customer success teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
