Overview
Databricks is seeking a Strategic Core Account Executive - Retail to lead strategic engagements with retail customers and drive revenue growth for our data and AI platform. You will own the end-to-end sales process for strategic retail accounts, collaborating with product, solutions engineering, and marketing teams to articulate value and close multi-year deals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans for top retail customers, focusing on strategic, high-value opportunities.
- Lead the full sales cycle from discovery to closure, including negotiation of contracts and terms.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Product, and Marketing to articulate the Databricks value proposition in business terms and ROI.
- Drive quarterly and annual revenue growth within assigned accounts and manage a robust forecast in the CRM.
- Engage with C-suite and senior executives (e.g., CIO, CTO, VP Analytics) to influence strategic IT and data initiatives.
- Build strong relationships across lines of business within retail organizations, including merchandising, supply chain, and customer experience teams.
- Provide accurate pipeline updates, strategy, and insights to internal stakeholders.
- Travel as needed to meet with customers and partner ecosystems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of enterprise software or data/AI sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota, preferably in the retail sector.
- Experience selling to C-suite and senior executives; strong consultative and business-value storytelling skills.
- Deep understanding of data, analytics, AI platforms, and how they drive business outcomes in retail.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools; ability to build ROI models and business cases.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
