Staff Network Engineer — Amsterdam, Netherlands

Databricks is looking for a seasoned network engineer to design, implement, and operate our global network infrastructure that spans on-premises and cloud environments. You will champion network reliability, security, and automation, partner with SRE, security, and cloud teams, and help scale our platform as Databricks grows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain global network architectures across data centers and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Manage routing, switching, BGP, VPNs, firewall policies, and network security controls
• Drive network automation and instrumentation using Python, Terraform, Ansible, and related tooling
• Monitor performance, availability, and incident response; participate in on-call rotations
• Collaborate with SRE, platform, security, and cloud teams to ensure scalable, reliable connectivity

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise or cloud networking
• Strong expertise in BGP, route reflectors, MPLS, IPsec VPNs, firewalls
• Experience with multi-cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures
• Proficiency in network automation using Python, Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix administration and network troubleshooting
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
