Job Overview

Databricks is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer for Unity Catalog to bridge product, engineering, and marketing. You will develop deep technical content, enable the field and customers with hands-on product knowledge, and help articulate the value of Unity Catalog across data governance and security scenarios.

Databricks is a leader in the data and analytics space, offering a unified platform for data engineering, data science, and analytics. As part of the Unity Catalog team, you will help drive adoption of data governance capabilities across customers and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical content (briefs, whitepapers, demos, workshops) that communicates Unity Catalog capabilities to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Enable go-to-market efforts by delivering field enablement, training, and technical sales support.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to translate complex features into clear messaging and differentiators.
  • Develop and deliver hands-on demonstrations and labs that illustrate Unity Catalog in real-world scenarios.
  • Gather customer feedback to influence product messaging and roadmap considerations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in technical marketing, developer relations, or pre-sales engineering for data platforms.
  • Strong background in data governance, data catalogs, security, and access controls.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with Unity Catalog or similar data catalog solutions is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
