Role Overview

The Sr. Solutions Engineer will act as a technical advisor and trusted partner to Databricks customers in the APAC region, focusing on Hong Kong and surrounding areas. You will deliver compelling technical demonstrations, design reference architectures, and collaborate with customers to accelerate adoption of the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical demonstrations and proofs of concept for customers
• Design and prototype data engineering and analytics pipelines on the Databricks Lakehouse
• Collaborate with sales, solutions engineers, and customer teams to architect scalable solutions
• Provide guidance on performance, security, governance, and cost optimization
• Respond to technical questions and troubleshoot issues during pilots and deployments
• Create and share reference architectures, best practices, and reusable patterns

Qualifications

• 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Field Engineer, or equivalent)
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, SQL, and Python/Scala
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with Databricks or similar data platforms is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel within APAC as needed
