Overview
Databricks is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to support US and Canada payroll processes from our Costa Rica delivery hub. This role partners with HR, Finance and payroll vendors to ensure accurate, timely payroll execution, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and regulatory compliance for US and Canada employees.
Responsibilities
- Process US and Canada payroll for employees, including new hires, terminations, and changes in status.
- Ensure accuracy of tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and net pay; run payroll cycles on schedule.
- Reconcile payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related employee inquiries.
- Maintain payroll records and produce required regulatory reports; assist with audits and year-end tasks (e.g., W-2s and T4s as applicable).
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, Benefits and IT teams; support HRIS/payroll systems and maintain data integrity.
- Stay up-to-date on US and Canada payroll regulations; implement process improvements and maintain internal controls.
- Provide excellent customer service and data-driven insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of payroll experience focusing on US and Canada.
- Strong knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations, tax rules, and year-end processes.
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with global teams (remote-friendly if applicable).
