Databricks is a data and AI company known for the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. We’re looking for a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the Lakeflow Pipeline initiative.

Role Overview

Title: Sr. Engineering Manager - Lakeflow Pipeline. Location: Mountain View, California. This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on Lakeflow Pipeline.
• Define technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap with emphasis on reliability, performance, and security.
• Partner with product, data, and platform teams to implement end-to-end data processing pipelines.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor engineers; manage performance and career development.
• Ensure quality through design reviews, testing, monitoring, and strong operational practices.
• Drive release planning, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering leadership experience, preferably in data pipelines or data platform ecosystems.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Expertise in distributed systems, data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink), and ETL patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to scale teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lakeflow, Databricks Lakehouse Platform, or data lakehouse architectures.
• Familiarity with streaming data, data quality, observability (metrics, tracing, logging).
