Solutions Architect

Overview

Databricks is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join Databricks Japan K.K. in Tokyo. In this role you will help customers design and implement data solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, focusing on Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud data platforms. You will partner with customers, Solutions Engineering, and Sales to translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready architectures. This is an on-site role based in Tokyo, Japan.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer workshops to understand business goals and map them to Databricks Lakehouse solutions.
• Architect end-to-end data pipelines, data models, and governance using Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Collaborate with Solutions Engineers and Sales to develop compelling technical proposals and proofs-of-concept.
• Guide customers through migration and modernization of existing data platforms.
• Provide technical leadership during deployments and ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data tools in production environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure data architectures.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
