Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

Databricks is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Aarhus, Denmark. You will help build scalable backend services that power our data analytics platform, focusing on reliability, performance, and seamless data access.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services in Scala/Java/Python.
• Build robust APIs and data processing components for Apache Spark based workloads.
• Collaborate with data engineering, platform and product teams to deliver features.
• Write tests, monitor performance, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Participate in architecture decisions and code reviews.
• Help improve deployment, monitoring and on-call reliability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data processing pipelines.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Kafka is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
