Databricks – Senior Solutions Engineer
Role overview
Databricks is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Field Engineering team in Amsterdam. In this role you will partner with enterprise customers to design and implement scalable data analytics solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, translating business requirements into robust technical architectures and proven deployments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and product engineers to understand requirements and craft end-to-end data analytics solutions on Databricks.
- Lead architecture discussions, deliver technical workshops, and implement proof-of-concepts.
- Evaluate performance, reliability, and security; optimize solutions for production use.
- Assist with scoping and responding to RFPs and technical inquiries.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow and data governance best practices.
- Create enablement content and help train customers and partners.
- Occasional travel to customer sites as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or customer-facing roles in data analytics or cloud platforms.
- Strong SQL skills; proficiency in Python and/or Scala.
- Deep knowledge of the Databricks platform, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures (data lakehouse).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container technologies.
- Previous enterprise customer-facing experience.
