Role overview

Databricks is seeking a Senior Contracts Negotiator for Procurement Legal to lead the negotiation and management of complex enterprise contracts, including technology, software, and data-related agreements. You will collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Security, Compliance, Finance, and business teams to mitigate risk, ensure policy compliance, and enable scalable growth across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations of enterprise supplier, technology, and data-related contracts, including Master Service Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Data Protection Agreements (DPAs), and SLAs.
  • Draft, redline, negotiate, and finalize contract terms while preserving Databricks’ commercial position and risk controls.
  • Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle from intake and review to signature and archival; maintain accurate contract repositories.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Security, Privacy, and Procurement teams to ensure privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements are met in all contracts.
  • Provide business-facing guidance on risk exposure, commercial terms, and negotiation strategy; escalate issues as needed.
  • Develop and maintain contract playbooks, clause libraries, and standardized templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members; contribute to cross-functional training.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely renewal and performance reviews.
  • Partner with engineering, product, sales, and finance teams on complex commercial arrangements and negotiation milestones.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in enterprise contract negotiation, preferably in technology, software, cloud services, and data/privacy-related topics.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, vendor management, DPAs/privacy terms, information security requirements, and risk assessment.
  • Proven drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and resolve disputes in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational abilities; demonstrated ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management and developing standardized templates and playbooks.
