Pre-Sales Solutions Architect (S.Africa Fly-in)

Overview

Databricks is seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect (S.Africa Fly-in) to join our Field Engineering team. In this role you will partner with the sales team to win business by delivering technical pre-sales engagements, architecture designs, and hands-on demonstrations of the Databricks Lakehouse Platform to customers in Europe with occasional travel to South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical demonstrations and architecture reviews for prospects and customers.
• Design, validate, and present Databricks-based data analytics solutions across cloud providers.
• Lead technical workshops, respond to RFPs, and build proof-of-concept environments.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineers, and customers to translate requirements into scalable data architectures.
• Represent Databricks at events and conferences; travel as required.

Requirements

• 7+ years in pre-sales, solutions architecture, data engineering, or related.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and data lakehouse concepts.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficient in SQL; programming experience in Python/Scala/Java.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally, including South Africa, as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
