Engineering Manager - AI OSS Ecosystem, Databricks

Databricks is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the AI Open Source Software (OSS) ecosystem in Singapore. You will mentor engineering teams, set the technical direction for AI OSS initiatives, and drive architectural decisions to ship scalable AI-powered data platform technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow cross-functional AI OSS teams
• Define technical strategy and architectural direction for AI-enabled OSS initiatives
• Collaborate with product, research, and design to align roadmaps and deliver value to customers
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and invest in career development
• Ensure reliability, performance, security, and quality across OSS components
• Partner with Databricks platforms and cloud teams to scale deployments across regions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering leadership or a track record of shipping complex software systems (AI/ML experience preferred)
• Strong background in distributed systems, data processing, or AI tooling
• Experience with open-source software development and community collaboration
• Excellent communication and people-management skills
