Staff Product Designer – Role Overview

As a Staff Product Designer at Databook, you will shape the end-to-end design of our core product experiences. This on-site, Palo Alto-based role requires collaborating with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and researchers to create intuitive, impactful interfaces and scalable design systems. You will own the design process from discovery to delivery and help mentor other designers as we grow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product design from research and problem framing to high-fidelity prototypes and handoffs to engineering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product strategy and translate data insights into intuitive user experiences.
  • Design, evolve, and maintain the design system to ensure consistency across products.
  • Create compelling UX flows, information architecture, and interaction patterns for complex data-heavy applications.
  • Mentor junior designers, review work, and contribute to team growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio across web and mobile.
  • Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma) and strong prototyping, usability testing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, usable interfaces and data visualizations.
  • Excellent collaboration, storytelling, and cross-functional partnership abilities.

Location

Palo Alto, California, United States (onsite)

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • Equity opportunities and 401(k) with company match.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage; generous time off and parental leave.
