Data Scientist, Safety

📋 Description

• Leverage data to identify opportunities for improving community trust and safety
• Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, marketing, and operators to translate insights into safe decisions
• Design and analyze online experiments; communicate results to influence launches
• Build and monitor metrics for rider/driver safety, product health, policy compliance
• Develop measurement strategies to evaluate safety features, interventions, and detection systems
• Drive proactive risk identification and continuous improvement via analysis and experiments
• Mentor junior data scientists to accelerate growth and impact

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in statistics, economics, applied math, OR, or engineering (advanced degrees preferred) or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years in data science or product analytics
• Proficiency in SQL; write efficient queries on large datasets
• Experience with Python or R for analysis, visualization, and modeling
• Strong statistics and experimentation knowledge, including A/B testing or causal inference
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence cross-functional partners
• Self-starter with curiosity and ownership
• Ability to combine business intuition with advanced solutions
• Passion for staying current in Data Science and ML; data quality obsessed
• Prior experience in Trust & Safety or Platform Integrity is a plus
