Data Scientist, Risk & Fraud

📋 Description

• Translate data into actionable fraud and risk recommendations.
• Define and own KPIs measuring fraud cost, prevention, and impact.
• Analyze methods and partner with product/ML to improve anti-fraud.
• Design, implement, and evaluate fraud feature rollouts.
• Define and own the experimentation playbook for Fraud at Whatnot.
• Build dashboards, data pipelines, and self-serve tools.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data; 3+ years in analytics & science for anti-fraud/risk.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Economics, Statistics, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Industry experience applying scientific methods to large-scale data.
• Advanced SQL and data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and Spark or DBT.
• Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and experimentation.
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and causal inference.
