Data Center Operations Technician

📋 Description

• Execute remote hands services and customer support requests (reboots, media swaps, inspections, cable tracing)
• Install, test, label, and maintain copper and fiber cabling, patch panels, and cross-connects
• Provision and troubleshoot customer and carrier interconnection services within defined physical-layer scope
• Monitor alarms (security, environmental, equipment); perform rounds and readings; escalate where needed
• Maintain documentation for cross-connects, connectivity paths, capacity, and activities
• Support rack-and-stack readiness through optic swaps, cable management, and visual checks

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecom, or IT infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of copper and fiber media, patching, testing, and physical-layer troubleshooting
• Ability to work precisely in live customer environments without creating risk
• Strong attention to labeling, documentation, change control, and customer-facing tasks
• Ability to recognize abnormalities and escalate clearly and appropriately
• Comfortable working in a 24x7 environment requiring responsiveness and professionalism
