Platform Engineer

Dark Wolf Solutions is looking for a Platform Engineer with experience building and operating hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms. The engineer will utilize prior experience deploying Kubernetes in multiple ways and supporting automation of platform management at enterprise scale. The engineer shall have experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable. The engineer will feel comfortable maintaining the underlying services required to host containerized applications. The engineer will possess effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native architecture
• Implement secure automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure as code 
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments 
• Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies
• Iterate on best practices to increase the quality and velocity of deployments 
• Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management 

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience with Platform Engineering. 
• 3+ years of experience developing production software leveraging modern languages (including: Java, Python, Go, NodeJS, etc.).
• 1+ years of experience developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.
• 3+ years of experience with agile and lean software development philosophies.
• 1+ years of experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch etc.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience with modern version control systems such as Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree; or equivalent industry experience.
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance required. 

Desired Qualifications:

• MS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent. 

This location is located in Crystal City, VA. The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $190,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical interview.
