Position Overview
We’re hiring a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and accurate financial records for a multinational organization operating in USD, GBP, and EUR. You’ll report to the Senior Accountant and work cross-functionally to keep books accurate, timely, and audit-ready while maintaining tax compliance across multiple state, federal, and international jurisdictions. This role has a clear path to Assistant Controller / Controller responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily bookkeeping: AP/AR posting, bank and credit card entries, vendor and customer maintenance.
- Prepare and post journal entries: accruals, prepaids, payroll allocations, intercompany, FX.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, balance-sheet accounts, and subledgers monthly.
- Process invoices, receipts, employee expenses, and reimbursements; follow up on aged receivables.
- Support month-end close: schedules, variance checks, and management reporting packs.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails; follow internal controls.
- Assist with tax and compliance prep (e.g., VAT, vendor docs, state tax, federal tax) with external advisors.
- Improve processes: chart-of-accounts hygiene, imports/automation, and SOPs. Coordinate with Finance/Operations on payroll inputs and benefits reconciliations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Strong understanding of debits/credits, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivots, CSV imports, and data cleanup).
- Proficiency in English with clear, professional communication skills (vendors, customers, and internal teams).
- Experience with at least one accounting/finance platform (QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, or Forecast).
- Nice to have: multi-entity and multi-currency exposure (USD/GBP/EUR) and/or project accounting.
- Nice to have: Spanish language skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
