DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations has an opening for a Proposal Coordinator to work from our Corporate Office in Pineville, Louisiana. The Proposal Coordinator is involved in the sales process serving as the primary point of contact for developing innovative solutions on certain types of proposals. The PC will be the primary point of contact for all technical and financial issues relating to specific proposals. This Proposal Coordinator works to develop long-term customer and vendor relationships, develop alliances, and increase partnerships for the advancement of the business.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively manages proposals and schedules and ensures proposals are completed successfully.
  • Works with the Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Factory team members to maximize quality, efficiency, and safety to deliver proposals on time.
  • Manages correspondence with vendors, potential customers, and team members.
  • Accurately defines the project scope. Addresses scope ambiguity and clearly communicates divisions of responsibilities to all parties prior to submitting a proposal.
  • Read/interpret drawings and specifications provided by the customer and clearly communicate contents of a proposal (scope, schedule, open issues, etc.) to the Project and E&D teams during order acceptance meetings.
  • Develops competitive proposal financials, understand impacts (positive and negative) to decisions made, understand market conditions and competition.
  • Works with the Regional Sales Managers and DTPS leadership and team members to develop long-term customer and vendor relationships, develop alliances, and increase partnerships for the advancement of the business.

  • Maintains focus and perseverance throughout the life of each Proposal assigned.
  • Uses time efficiently and respond quickly and constructively when confronted with new opportunities and challenges.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple proposals during the same period.
  • Ability to formulate a plan based on the need and execute the tasks within.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Experience reading plans and specs, experience performing material take-off’s
  • Knowledge and interpretation of electrical single line diagrams
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED):

  • 4-year degree, preferably in an engineering or technical related field.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • General knowledge of high voltage substations and transmission lines.
  • Epicor or other ERP software experience
