Coursera is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our security team in Canada. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable security controls to protect Coursera's platform and user data.
About the role
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will partner with product and engineering teams to design secure systems, perform threat modeling, and lead incident response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement security controls across cloud environments (primarily AWS)
- Lead threat modeling and secure development lifecycle processes
- Perform security reviews of new features and architectures
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security tooling and practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of security engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with AWS and cloud security best practices
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Linux
- Experience with SIEM, SAST/DAST tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
