Role Overview

The Senior Content Strategy Manager will own the end-to-end content strategy for Coursera’s programs and product experiences. You will partner with product, marketing, curriculum, and editorial teams to define content approaches that drive engagement, learning outcomes, and business impact. This is a senior, cross-functional role requiring strategic thinking, strong storytelling, and a rigorous, data-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive content strategies aligned with Coursera’s goals and learner needs.
  • Lead editorial planning, governance, and cross-functional collaboration with product, marketing, curriculum, and policy teams.
  • Define and track content metrics (engagement, retention, completion, conversion) and iterate strategies based on data.
  • Establish content standards, taxonomy, and governance to ensure consistency across platforms and programs.
  • Mentor and collaborate with editors, writers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts.
  • Partner with analytics and growth teams to optimize content for search, discovery, and learner outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of content strategy, content marketing, or editorial leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of online learning, instructional design, and Coursera’s platform.
  • Experience with analytics tools (e.g., GA4), content performance measurement, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.

Preferred

  • Experience in higher education or tech education; familiarity with CMS and content operations.

Location

United States-based; on-site or hybrid arrangements may apply depending on team and policy.
