Overview

Coursera is a leading online learning platform delivering accessible, high-quality education to people around the world. We are seeking a talented Full-Stack AI Engineer to join our platform team. In this role, you will build and scale AI-powered features across the Coursera web application, collaborating with data scientists to deploy machine learning models and deliver robust, user-centric experiences. You will own both frontend and backend components, design and consume APIs, and contribute to a fast, reliable learning experience used by millions of learners worldwide. This position is based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end features for AI-powered applications
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize ML models
• Design robust REST/GraphQL APIs and scalable services
• Develop responsive frontend components using modern web frameworks
• Write tests, monitor performance, and ensure reliability
• Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and release planning

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-stack development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with React and Node.js (or similar)
• Familiarity with ML deployment and lifecycle
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• SQL and data modeling experience
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Familiarity with Coursera or education technology is a plus
