Counsel, Data Privacy

📋 Description

• Serve as data and privacy counsel for US & Americas on data protection, AI, cybersecurity topics.
• Spearhead AI governance development and implement governance frameworks.
• Develop privacy/compliance programs for the Americas (GLBA, FCRA, CalFIPA, EO 14117, state laws).
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Information Security to embed privacy-by-design in development and GTM, including DPIAs/PIAs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate DPAs, cross-border transfer terms, and AI-related clauses with third parties.
• Coordinate and oversee international data flows and governance (SCCs, data localization, storage, access controls).

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. legal qualification and active license to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 5 years of experience in-house or in private practice advising on technology, data and privacy.
• Strong knowledge of US federal/state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA/Reg P) and GDPR/LGPD.
• Experience guiding US privacy adtech requirements and consent management.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with Product/Engineering/Information Security to translate regulatory requirements into practical designs.
• Experience advising on emerging US/global AI legal requirements and AI governance.
