📋 Description

• Oversee lifecycle of Okta IP assets, aligning with business goals.
• Refine offensive/defensive IP strategies to maintain edge.
• Advise on IP-related business risks and emerging legal trends.
• Translate complex IP concepts into business-oriented guidance for stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to identify patentable inventions.
• Draft, review, and prosecute patent applications with outside counsel.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school with active Bar membership.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• USPTO Registered Patent Attorney.
• 5+ years IP experience including software patent prosecution.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud-based software and OSS.
• Builder mindset; thrives in fast-paced environments and balances legal analysis with business needs.
