CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer specializing in GPU and PCIe to join our team. You will design, validate, and optimize high-performance hardware for data-center GPU clusters.
Role Overview
As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will own the end-to-end hardware development lifecycle for GPU-based systems, including PCIe interfaces, motherboards, power delivery, and thermal management. You will collaborate with software, firmware, and design teams to deliver reliable, scalable hardware for CoreWeave's cloud GPU infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, bring up, and validate GPU hardware subsystems with emphasis on PCIe interfaces and high-speed signaling.
- Define PCIe topology, motherboards, power delivery, thermal solutions, and board-level test plans.
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis; create test benches and verification plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, firmware, and systems teams; support manufacturing and field deployment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
- 8+ years of hardware engineering experience, preferably in GPU or high-performance computing
- Deep knowledge of PCIe 4.0/5.0 signaling, PCB design, and signal integrity
- Experience with high-speed PCB design tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium) and lab equipment (TDR, scopes)
- Proficiency in verifying hardware with test benches, hardware-in-the-loop, and best practices for manufacturing readiness
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead initiatives
Nice-to-have
- Experience with GPU platforms (NVIDIA/Ampere/ Hopper lineage) and data-center power/thermal design
- Familiarity with FPGA/Verilog or firmware interactions
- Experience with Linux-based development environments
