Data Center Technician - Elk Grove, IL

Overview

CoreWeave is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our on-site operations team in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role supports data center hardware, network equipment, and routine maintenance to ensure high availability of our GPU-accelerated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, and provision servers and networking gear in the data center
• Perform cabling, labeling, and on-site hardware troubleshooting
• Monitor and support power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and cooling systems
• Respond to equipment alarms and perform diagnostics to identify hardware issues
• Assist with on-site deployments, maintenance windows, and change management
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and document procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or technical degree; 1-3 years of data center or field service experience
• Basic knowledge of server hardware and networking (RJ45, switches, IP addressing)
• Ability to read monitoring dashboards and use diagnostic tools
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform routine data center tasks
• On-site availability and willingness to work rotating shifts

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux or Windows server administration
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, or similar
