Controller (16-month contract)

📋 Description

• Oversee and improve month-end and year-end close for timely reporting.
• Manage full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, payroll, revenue, equity, taxes.
• Mentor and lead accounting professionals to a high-performance team.
• Prepare monthly flux analysis with drivers and trends.
• Resolve technical accounting matters with clear memos and conclusions.
• Lead annual compliance filings and payroll filings (Canada/US), SR&ED, 409A, and corporate tax returns.

🎯 Requirements

• CPA designation with 7+ years in a tech/SaaS/high-growth environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of identifying gaps and driving improvements.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience with a high-performance culture.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close for a multi-entity, multi-currency organization.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite desirable) and SaaS industry.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate financial insights for non-financial stakeholders.
