Controller (16-month contract)

📋 Description

• Oversee month-end and year-end closes for timely, accurate reporting.
• Manage full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, payroll, revenue, equity, tax.
• Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performance accounting team.
• Prepare monthly flux analysis with commentary on activity and trends.
• Own technical accounting matters with memos and clear conclusions.
• Lead annual compliance filings and reporting (Canada and US payroll, SR&ED, 409A, tax returns).

🎯 Requirements

• CPA designation with 7+ years in tech, SaaS, or high-growth environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of identifying gaps and improvements.
• 5+ years of people leadership; ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams to high standards.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close for multi-entity, multi-currency.
• Familiarity with Canadian and US payroll standards; payroll across both.
• Excellent communication and storytelling; translate financial insights for non-financial stakeholders.
