Contract - Mechanical Engineer

📋 Description

• Own and execute mechanical engineering workstreams from kickoff to production designs.
• Translate system-level requirements into concrete design outputs.
• Partner with electrical/robotics engineers to resolve structure, cabling, cooling, and assembly constraints.
• Drive DFM/ DFA decisions across enclosures, covers, interfaces, and subassemblies.
• Contribute to design optimization: materials, part consolidation, and fasteners.
• Develop CAD models and production-ready geometry for tooling and handoff.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with complex electromechanical or robotic products.
• Proven experience taking products from concept through production release.
• Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or equivalent) with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018.
• Deep understanding of plastics, metals, finishes, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience making disciplined design trade-offs within cost/manufacturing constraints.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, die casting, extrusion.
