Contract - Industrial Designer

📋 Description

• Own and execute industrial design workstreams from kickoff to production-intent designs
• Translate system requirements into industrial design solutions
• Partner with mechanical/robotics engineers on structure, actuation, cabling, cooling, and assembly
• Drive DFM and DFA decisions across enclosures, covers, interfaces, subassemblies
• Develop CAD models and production-ready geometry for tooling
• Produce production renders conveying design intent to non-technical stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of industrial design experience with complex electromechanical or robotic products
• Proven experience taking products from concept through production release
• Strong CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent), including production-intent modeling
• Deep understanding of plastics, metals, finishes, fastening methods, and tolerance stack-ups
• Manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, die casting, and extrusion
• Move fast, accept ambiguity, and make informed decisions with incomplete information
