Contentstack is seeking a Principal Engineer - DevOps to lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure. This role will own the DevOps strategy across CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling, partnering with software engineering teams to accelerate delivery and improve reliability.

Role overview

As a Principal Engineer - DevOps, you will lead the architecture and operation of our DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling. You will work closely with software engineering teams to drive reliability, scalability, and efficiency across environments.

Responsibilities

Define and drive DevOps architecture across cloud platforms (AWS), Kubernetes clusters, and containerization with Docker.
Design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash) to improve efficiency and reliability.
Monitor and improve system reliability, security, and performance; manage on-call rotations.
Mentor engineers and collaborate with security, product, and software teams.

Requirements

8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience or equivalent.
Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud providers (preferably AWS).
Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
Scripting skills in Python and Bash.
Experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).
Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and pipelines; excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Nice to have

Experience with serverless architectures, cost optimization, database administration, or working in a fast-growing SaaS environment.

Location

Based in Bangalore, India or willing to relocate as needed. This role is on-site in our Bangalore office with hybrid options per team policy.
