Role overview
Contentful is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer for Strategic Accounts to join our Global Solutions Engineering team. In this enterprise pre-sales role, you will partner with the Enterprise Sales team to understand complex customer needs and architect Contentful-based solutions that scale. You will own technical discovery, design tailored demonstrations, respond to RFPs, and help move opportunities through the sales cycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with strategic accounts and translate business requirements into technical solutions using Contentful's APIs and integrations.
- Design and deliver tailored demonstrations and proof-of-concepts showing how Contentful can meet customer needs.
- Respond to security questionnaires, RFPs, and integration questions in collaboration with security and product teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Stay current on Contentful features, roadmap, and competitive landscape; communicate insights to customers and internal teams.
- Travel as needed to customer sites and events.
Requirements
- 5+ years in solution engineering, pre-sales, or similar customer-facing technical roles in SaaS.
- Strong experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, content modeling, and digital experiences.
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React) or server-side technologies for demos.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Nice to have
- Experience with headless CMS or Contentful is a plus.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance considerations.
